Thomson's Filter Vial Syringeless Filters are preassembled filtration devices for removing particulates from samples. They replace the syringe-coupled filtration devices and autosampler vials with a single disposable unit.

Two-Part Design

Each Filter Vial consists of two parts: a chamber and a plunger. The design incorporates a filtration membrane on one end of the plunger and a pre-attached cap/septum on the other.

By pressing the plunger through liquid placed into the chamber, positive pressure forces the filtrate up into the reservoir of the plunger. Air escapes through the vent hole until the locking ring is engaged providing a liquid-tight seal. The Filter Vial can then be placed into any auto-sampler designed to accommodate 12 x 32mm vials.
